Using Social Media

Social media does more than just announce what is going on at Beachcities. It is an opportunity to reach and connect with our community. There is intention behind everything we share because in a sense, it is a ministry and often times the entry point

Does it Make Sense?

Communicate clearly to your people and stay within your people. If you confuse, you lose.

Humanize Beachcities

Show the people of our church and share how God is working through us right now, while staying authentic.

Operate within the culture, not the church

People will eventually tune you out. To connect you have to remain in the center of culture.

Interact with our community

People feel welcomed when they are engaged. We care, so we want to make a point to actively engage with our followers.

Tips and Tricks

Be Consistent

Depending on the size of the ministry, post 5-7+ times per week.

Just Ask

If you have questions, ask one of the members of the Comms Team or get a second opinion from a peer.

Be Relevant

Post relevant information. Is there a next step? Call to action? Announcement?

Promote

Start promoting an event 2-3 weeks prior and continue to promote it leading up to the event in different, creative ways.

Listen

Pay attention to what your followers like and what type of posts get the most engagement.

Time

Studies show that the best times to post is between 9-11am and 7-9pm.

Be Clear

Stay away from long, wordy captions and posts. Create content that is clear and concise so followers stay engaged.

Tell the why behind the what

Don't just post to post. Good content has a strong why behind it.
